History
The D Las Vegas was originally built by Tony Marnell, a renowned casino developer who also brought the Golden Nugget and The Hard Rock into existence. Under his ownership, the Delta Hotel and Casino catered primarily to budget-conscious travelers seeking an affordable stay near Fremont Street Experience. In 2012, Marnell sold the property to Downtown Grand LLC, marking the beginning of new changes for the establishment.
In preparation for its transformation, The D Las Vegas began a multi-million-dollar renovation effort in early 2013. This extensive remodeling process aimed at modernizing the hotel’s appearance and amenities while retaining the nostalgic charm that had drawn so many patrons during its initial years. Upon completion in spring 2014, The D unveiled an updated façade along Fremont Street Experience, revitalized interior spaces featuring vibrant color schemes and energetic lighting displays.
